Specialist & anti-ageing treatments using the AW3® IPL FACIAL also known as “photofacial”
This is a treatment to give a maximum collagen boost to push out even the deepest lying wrinkles from sun damaged wrinkled skin using the AW3® IPL (intense pulsed light). The technology used by cosmetic and medical practitioners to perform skin treatments for aesthetic and therapeutic purposes uses the power of Light to improve the appearance of a number of skin conditions such as age spots, rosacea, sun spots and acne. This is o overall an effective noninvasive affordable treatment. The heat from the light is attracted to the melanin/oxy-haemoglobin in the blood. The heat reaction breaks down the melanin and coagulates the blood within the area. This then leaves the body through the lymphatic system leaving the skin with a clearer complexion.
The heat that is also created within the epidermis and dermis (RF treatments only) makes the skin react as if it has had an injury. The blood and collagen rush into this area to repair it leaving the skin with a smoother appearance.
Treatments
I recommend on average 1-6 treatment at 4 week intervals for the best results. The level of collagen boost depends on your skin type so results do vary. Top up treatments may be needed in the future to maintain these results.

If the area being treated has dark hair present this must be shaved prior to treatment

Does it hurt:-
The sensation varies from client to client and is felt depending on the amount of melanin found in the client’s skin, the sensation is described as a heat sensation and some clients say it is like a mild sunburn following treatment.
What to expect:-
Mild redness of the skin will show after treatment. This is a good sign that the treatment has worked and sufficient heat has been pushed in to the epidermis.
Pigmentation treatments – these will initially turn darker after the treatment, this is completely normal, crusting will also appear which MUST shed off naturally up to 10 days after treatment. The skin will then appear more even in colour and the pigment will appear lighter
Acne treatment removal – works by the light being absorbed into the blood vessels which supply the sebaceous glands thus decreasing the over production of oil in the skin
Thread vein removal – This works by the light being attracted to the chromophore in the blood as the light is absorbed by blood in the vessels a heat reaction occurs which coagulates blood and destroys protein in the all of the vessel. The vessel then breaks down and the debris is removed by the body’s lymphatic drainage system.
What to expect after treatment: – slight redness (erythema) will be present and sloe Vera gel can be applied and a cold compress.
All clients must use a SPF 30 daily following treatments
